Camp director of Camp Gilead

As the Camp Director I plan the summer camp theme, hire the cabin leaders and staff, plan summer camp games, and all other aspects of summer camp.

I grew up in Lancaster (Pronounced Lang-keh-ster), Pennsylvania, and my immediate family still lives there. We are not Amish, but I grew up next to them.

During 2020, I joined the CBM internship program, and one of my rotations was to Camp Gilead as a program director for that summer. I was asked me to return as the camp director. To date, I have now lived in Florida and Camp Gilead for five years, and my grandmother lives with me.

My spiritual gifts are teaching and exhortation.

What I love most about Camp Gilead is the small group elements. We have a small ratio of campers to cabin leaders so we can disciple and get to know individual campers personally.

My dreams for Camp Gilead are to continue to reach children for 100 more years! I pray we keep our discipleship models and can offer more specialized camps in the future.

My favorite Bible Verse is Psalm 71:18 “Even when I am old and grey, do not forsake me O LORD, until I declare Your power to the next generation, Your mighty act to all who are to come.”

I love this verse because it is the purpose of my life, to reach children with the Gospel for as many generations as God allows me to be alive.

Something unique about me is that I am the first girl to be born to the Bailey side of the family in 50 years!
