Chris Andreu

Director of Student Ministries

I grew up in Arcadia, a small town about 50 miles south of Camp Gilead. I have resided in Lakeland for most of my adult life. My family first volunteered at Camp Gilead during the summer of 2011. I later joined the staff in 2012.

When I became acquainted with the ministry of Camp Gilead, I was impressed by how God utilizes various aspects to draw young people to Himself. From the significant spiritual decisions made during summer camp to the relationships and discipleship that take place weekly during Bible clubs, I am moved by the ministry’s impact.

The 90-year history of Camp Gilead’s ministry always fills me with awe and gratitude for the faithfulness of our God. I find joy in serving, teaching, and encouraging others on their journey with Christ.

My favorite verse is John 3:17: “For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”

This reminds me of God’s heart and mind. As His follower, it helps me stay focused on His purposes.

I grew up in Lakeland, Florida, and have lived in Florida all my life. My entire family has served in a variety of roles at Camp Gilead since 2011.

What I love the most about serving at Camp Gilead is the long-term relationships that I have with the kids and their families.

My favorite verse is 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control."

Something unique about me is my ability to listen and then make people laugh. I love making people laugh!
